I challenge myself to learn different techniques and explore new areas of design. Below are some of my favorite pieces.

Design Challenges

I decided to give glassmorphism a shot after watching this video a friend sent. This was a great problem to tackle and I learned a lot of new techniques involving shadowing. The classic example is to create a credit or debit card, but I also see a lot of other fun use cases!

I have always been pretty intrigued by logo animation so as a beginner project I tried to recreate the Netflix introduction for my college organization, Strategic Venture Society. This was a decently difficult challenge as I hand-drew each frame but I am pretty happy with what I created.

I wanted to make sure all the essential information was available for this pass, and even more. I am the type of person to instantly look up which seat I have, so I added an at-a-glance seating section.

Overall, I wanted to keep the text parallel. For example, the location of the flight always remains in the bottom row, even when the stub is ripped off.

There were two features I really wanted to tackle: being able to use calendar dates and creating an authentic feel for the location. For the first, I implemented a mini calendar that projects two weeks out. I find that personally it’s easier to look at versus the standard days of the week. I used images of the location to make a more interesting background than the usual sunny skies.

I kept the overall design minimal, keeping in line with Spotify's branding. However, I incorporated more green as the call to action color, shown by the play buttons.

As the user reads the options from left to right, price increases. In addition, each bullet point is similar to its neighbors on the same line, so differences between each plan can be spotted immediately.

When ordering in the current Starbucks app, the user is directed to a new page for every line item. I decided to move all the necessary order details onto one page (i.e. size, type of milk) and create a separate section named Extras for unusual orders (i.e. extra toppings, more pumps). I feel that this streamlines the process, especially for users who do not have complicated orders.
